Can I Whiten My Porcelain Crowns Before Placement?
Some patients desire a change in the color of their all-porcelain crowns after our cosmetic dentist, Michael Kosdon, DDS temporarily cements them in place for a trial period of wear. Typically, these particular cases involve all-ceramic restorations designed for the most visible front teeth. When an adjustment in hue is requested, Dr. Kosdon can send the crowns back to his Master Ceramist for some slight alterations that match the patient’s revised cosmetic goals.
On our sister website, Dr. Kosdon has gone into greater detail explaining the different processes used to fabricate all-ceramic crowns and how a lighter shade can be created without remaking the entire crown. To get all the information from Dr. Kosdon, we invite you to read the full blog article.
